Matema College
The Matema Educational Trust is a registered charity in the UK.
Over the last 4 years it has financed the construction of Matema College, 7km south of Karonga, Northern Malawi.
There are two blocks each with two classrooms with storerooms. There is a separate toilet/shower block with mains water-supply. Connection to the electricity supply is imminent.
The school is close to opening however we still require funding for the finishing touches to the buildings, equipment and to support the first intake of students into vocational educational courses.

Important News:
A sponsored walk is being organised for ex-Lycee pupils and others in aid of Matema College. It will take place on Sunday, 27th September 2009 and will start outside the Festival Hall , by the Thames, at 12 o'clock. It will be about five miles in total. We shall walk along the South Bank to Tower Bridge, which we shall cross, and then proceed along the north side until Villiers Street, and finish in "The Bell and Compass" pub .
There will a quiz to do along the way, and all the answers are to be found on the route.It is suggested that you walk in teams of four, and there are mystery prices for the winning teams -i.e. the first two teams to reach the end with the right answers!
Sponsorship forms should be downloaded from this website ,where you will find payment details. Those who wish to pay in cash may do so on the day, but cheques would be preferable.
Do come, in vast numbers! The pub has been forewarned! Here is a chance to have some exercise alongside the Thames, see lots of old friends and raise money for charity.
